BDA Fire was founded by Mark Sharples in 1999 and has evolved significantly since its humble beginnings to become a leader in its field.
BDA Fire has changed shape and location since its beginnings. In 2013, BDA Fire moved from Birtinya on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland to a hinterland location at Maleny. From this base we utilise the best that modern technology has available to assist us in keeping in contact with our clients. We are just over an hour from Brisbane CBD and Brisbane airport and 40 minutes from the Sunshine Coast and Maroochydore airport.
Mark is a Chartered Engineer (CEng MIFireE) registered with the Engineering Council UK and is a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ). Associations with a myriad of professional organisations within Australia and overseas allows Mark to keep in touch with industry movements, network with industry colleagues as well as being involved with committee activities.
Mark loves conquering challenges and his last big adventure was a hike across Tasmanian wilderness from Cradle Mountain to Lake St. Claire. When not working, Mark is at a gym, or at the snooker table, working diligently towards his personal goals.
